Project Update/BSB Occupants Meeting Update
-The two construction projects (CRI and the Mechanical Room Expansion)
have been combined into one project. The new value of the combined
construction cost is estimated to be $35,140,000.00. CRI- The precast concrete floor system for the first floor is being set. The slab for the first floor autoclave is in place and the autoclave slated to be moved Oct 21-Nov 15. Construction of the structural steel frame for the CRI will begin at the end of October. Jack hammering to remove bathroom tile should be completed by the end of the first week of October. There have been complaints from some professors and students attending lectures in the building. Hank Harrison will do all that he can to accommodate the classroom schedule. At this time he is trying to complete the work before exams begin. Hank can be reached via cell phone at 670-2778 should any work need to be interrupted due to noise or fumes. It should be remembered however that all of this work must be done before this project can be completed, so disruption of the schedule is only postponing the inevitable. Review of Renovation Schedule for BSB 1ST & 2nd Floor Lobbies, 1st Floor Entrance and Monumental Stair HERE is another document with a schedule of events and figures showing the tunnel configurations and points of access to the building. It is a large file and you may have difficulty opening it. If so, let me know and I will send you a hard copy of the document. (WEB VERSION HERE) It is the same hand-out that was distributed at the Occupants Meetings on Oct 3 and 4. Below is the schedule of renovation events. September
