CRI Project Update/BSB Occupants Meeting

Tom Trusk agreed to help update the CRI website. Leslie Kendall will provide Tom with the information he needs.

CRI is 70% complete: the contract completion date is August 16, 2004.

Lobby- Painting of the 1st floor lobby has begun. The pre-cast terrazzo, glass panels, and handrail glass will arrive the week of November 10, 2003. The Forbo linoleum for the 2nd floor is on hand and will be installed soon. The south hallway floor will be replaced with vinyl composition tile and a new base cove. The newly renovated spaces in Micro will coordinate nicely with the decorative aspects of the monumental staircase landing and the second floor of the CRI. Beth Gladden has taken care to use many of the same colors and finishes.

Roof - The roof is watertight and the sheet metal should be completed by the end of November 2003.

Dec 22 - Jan 5 --The most disruptive aspects of the break throughs and expansion joints will be done over the winter break from classes. Jack hammering and drilling are a necessary part of the completion of this work.

Envelope of CRI- The brick is complete on the east and west elevations. The north elevation is being worked on now. The curtain wall is complete on the east side and is in progress on the west side.

Floors -The rough-ins are nearly complete on the lab floors?2nd, 3rd and 4th. On the 7th floor rough-ins are in progress on the east side. Some of the ductwork on the 7th fl was reworked -- phoenix valves were added in order to use the new ventilated racks as they are purchased over the next few years. The phoenix valves will enhance the ability to balance the air flow in this space.

Site work- Work has begun on the water, storm sewer, and sanitary sewer lines. Work is continuing on the chilled water line and the installation of the new gas line for the MRE.

MRE- All major equipment is set. The brick and block skin is in progress. The piping, wiring, and plumbing are in progress.

BSB Housekeeping- Julie Fessenden is continuing to work with the BSB Housekeeping staff to improve efficiency and performance.
