CRI Project Update/BSB Occupants' Meeting
April 4, 2002 BSB 120
Next meeting: April 18, 1:30 p.m., BSB 120
Please note: there will not be a meeting this Thursday, April 11
as Mac will be in Alabama visiting mommanem.

Infrastructure The Mechanical Room Expansion structural designs are being reviewed at a meeting in Columbia. We hope to have an opportunity to present the work to the President and gain approval on the shape and site of the building within the next week. This building needs to be operational by the summer of 2003.

CRI 90 Piles are left to be driven. We expect to complete pile driving by the end of April. About 100 yards of concrete will be placed within the next week. This will give us about 28% of the concrete poured.

The utilities tunnel is the next major work item on the critical path. Sheet pile work will begin on April 22, 2002. Limited space, and machinery being so close together has caused several near misses on the construction site.

The duct bank has been removed and the electrical work is complete.

The week of April 15, we would like to begin the renovation of the restroom on the sixth floor. Gender changes will be done on two of the existing bathrooms in BSB. It is important that we go ahead and start this work because all the roof leaders come down in a pipe chase just outside the bathrooms and these leaders need to be rerouted to avoid dumping water into the construction site. So the earlier we can complete the renovation and get into the pipe leaders in the restrooms the sooner we can relieve the site of the water problem.
