Changes in Traffic Flow

As you know, construction on the Children's Research Institute behind the Basic Science Building has begun. The entire area from the eastern most edge of G lot, east to Ashley Avenue, is now a Restricted Construction Site. Pedestrian traffic is prohibited, however, vehicle deliveries to BSB are allowed.

The construction company has erected a chain link fence to control this traffic but the gate is only clipped shut (not locked). This seems to adequately prohibit pedestrian traffic while allowing trucks access to the loading dock.

It is important that students and occupants of BSB do not use any of the rear (North side) exits of the building except in the case of an emergency, because they exit into the fenced-in, Restricted Construction Site. And that they do not enter the Restricted Construction Site from the outside.

While construction is an inconvenience, it is an indication of the growth and success of our University. We greatly appreciate your cooperation during this time. (11/8/2001)
